NYFW FW24: My Favorite Looks/Trends of the Season

HYPEBEAST.com

NYFW FW24 was filled with beautifully crafted, inspiring pieces that are sure to rock the boat on fashion trends in the upcoming seasons. A few of the many designers and brands featured in NYFW this season included Helmut Lang, Sandy Liang, Couch, Tommy Hilfiger, alice + olivia, and Proenza Schouler. New York City kicked off the four-week long fashion extravaganza with style and I can’t wait to share some of my favorite highlights!

Pleated Skirts

As a former private school kid who had to wear pleated plaid skirts everyday, this trend triggered me at first. However, I’ve really grown to love it - especially the midi length skirts! Tommy Hilfiger and Sandy Liang showcased great ways to style pleated skirts during NYFW this season, such as with oversized sweaters or jackets and even over a pair of pants. Needless to say - I’m OBSESSED.

Sheer is Here to Stay

We got to see sheer in nearly every show during NYFW this season, and it’s certainly not going anywhere anytime soon. Brands and designers such as Helmut Lang, Proenza Schouler, and Ludavic de Saint Sernin all embraced the sheer trend with see-through shirts, pants, dresses, and even jackets. We are going to be a seeing a lot of sheer pieces especially as spring and summer quickly approach. It’s a great solution to light layering as the weather gets warmer. I absolutely love this trend and how creative you can really get with it!

Fur Everything and Everywhere

Calling all my fellow Mob Wife aesthetic friends! Fur was all over the runway this NYFW and is here to stay. We saw a wide range of fur this season, from trench coats to vests and even fur detailing. Brands and designers such as Eckhaus Latta, Puppets and Puppets, Ulla Johnson, and Khaite absolutely dominated the runway with fur!

Flowers for Days

Flowers were found in a lot of looks on the NYFW runway this season. Usually, flowers and florals exude Spring/Summer energy, but designers have found a way to keep that vibe alive even in the colder seasons. Anna Sui and Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s looks stood out the most to me when it came to flower motifs and creating a vintage/grunge feel.
